The Joliet outbound tender rejection rate has increased 170 basis points in the past week to 8.03% and is now up 387 basis points year over year.
That outbound tender rejection rate increase, combined with the market’s status as the 10th largest outbound market in SONAR (not including Chicago, which is considered the 17th largest outbound market), indicates that Joliet is having a “strong tightening” impact on the overall freight market.
Often, the tender rejection rates for the Joliet and Chicago markets are roughly in line with the national tender rejection rate. Currently, the Joliet and Chicago tender rejection rates are 8.03% and 7.73%, respectively, compared to the national tender rejection rate of 5.92%.
The Joliet inbound tender rejection rate has also been on the rise, it’s currently at 9.7%, up from 6.5% just after Labor Day.
