Polaris is proud to announce our participation in the Government of Canada’s Net-Zero Challenge, an initiative that brings together businesses committed to achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. The Challenge provides a framework for Canadian companies to set credible, science-informed targets and report transparently on their progress toward decarbonization.
Through this commitment, we are formalizing a net-zero target for Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 2050, covering our fleet and facilities. This builds on our existing interim target of a 30% reduction in Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions by 2030, reinforcing a structured and phased approach to climate action.
“By joining the Net-Zero Challenge, Polaris Transportation Group is demonstrating leadership through net-zero planning. This Government of Canada initiative supports businesses in setting ambitious targets that not only reduce emissions but also strengthen their long-term competitiveness. As global markets shift toward clean growth, companies like Polaris are helping position our country to lead and succeed in the net-zero economy,” states the Honourable Julie Dabrusin, Minister of the Environment, Climate Change and Nature.
Beyond direct emissions, Polaris is actively advancing sustainability across our broader value chain. While no formal Scope 3 reduction target has been set, our ongoing initiatives in waste diversion, employee commuting programs and sustainable procurement are contributing to measurable progress in supply chain sustainability.
“For Polaris, sustainability is not just an initiative, it’s a responsibility,” shares Dave Cox, Polaris CEO. “By participating in the Net-Zero Challenge, we are strengthening our long-term commitment to reducing emissions, investing in responsible operations and supporting a more sustainable future for the transportation industry.”
Polaris’ participation in the Net-Zero Challenge reflects a core belief that the freight and logistics sector has both the opportunity and responsibility to lead on climate action. As a Canadian LTL carrier operating across Canada and the United States, we recognize that credible, long-term commitments are essential to maintaining the trust of customers, employees and the communities we serve.
