Government Extends Exemptions for Auto and Aerospace Inputs Under Steel Derivative Goods Surtax Order

Finance Canada’s latest advisement on the Steel Derivative Goods Surtax Order came with an amendment. Now, the exemption for auto and aerospace inputs extends through June 30, 2027. Read more.

CAPE Warehouse Entry Update

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) recently announced that effective July 7, 2026, warehouse entry types 21 and 22 will no longer be accepted on a CAPE Declaration. Importers utilizing CAPE Declarations should review any impacted transactions and ensure compliance. Find out more.

Tariff Schedule Update

The finalized Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) changes became effective July 1, 2026. The updates include revisions to tariff classifications and statistical reporting provisions. Compliance Alert: CPSC Certificate Data Must Be Filed Electronically

On July 8, 2026, importers of products regulated by the U.S. CPSC will have to submit their product certificate date electronically to the CBP at the time of entry. Importers are responsible for providing certificate data to their brokers and a Regulatory Robot has been created for assistance. See more.
