Temporary CFIA Import Requirements for U.S. Romaine Lettuce Effective September 24, 2026

Due to previous outbreaks, CFIA has introduced import requirements for U.S. romaine lettuce and salad mixes. From September 24 to December 17, importers must provide proof of origin documentation and must also retain supporting records for each shipment. Learn more.

MANDATORY Aluminum Reporting EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 01 2026

Effective this October, new reporting requirements will apply to aluminum imports covered by GIP 83. Importers must report where aluminum was smelted and most recently cast through the SWI IID. Second Quarter of the Steel TRQs Opened for Second Year

Steel TRQs will transition to the second quarter of Year 2 on September 30, 2026, with permit applications are being accepted starting September 15. The product scope and quota volumes remain unchanged for the new quarter. Find out more.

Customs User Fee Adjustments Effective October 1, 2026

CBP will implement inflation-based customs fee increases on October 1, 2026. The Merchandise Processing Fee for formal entries will increase to a $34.58 minimum and $670.86 maximum, potentially impacting import costs. Learn more.
