Allentown’s outbound tender rejection rates continued to rise over the past week, up 219 basis points to 6.13%. That’s 216 basis points higher than last year’s value of 3.97%.
The rise in outbound tender volumes appears to be one reason behind the higher tender rejection rates. Allentown’s tender volumes grew 17.1% week over week and are 12.51% higher than last month.
These two developments have skewed Allentown’s freight mix toward more outbound volumes than inbound. According to SONAR Key Market Insights, out of 135 key market areas, Allentown ranks sixth in outbound and 10th in inbound.
Dry van spot market rates are also increasing. Van TRAC spot market conditions show that 20% of outbound lanes had above-average increases, based on a four-day rolling average.
