Dallas outbound tender rejection rates continue to rise, up 314 basis points week over week from 12.38% on Jan. 26 to 15.52%.
The rapid rise in tender rejection rates — in addition to Winter Storm Fern — was also driven by a rise in outbound tender volumes. Dallas outbound tender volumes rose 2.68% week over week. Compared with last month, Dallas tender volumes are 39.15% higher.
Higher tender rejection rates paired with more volumes translate into increases in spot market rates. According to Van TRAC spot market conditions, 16% of Dallas outbound lanes reported above-average rate increases based on a four-day rolling average.
Dallas’s freight market mix is skewed toward higher outbound volumes than inbound volumes. Among 135 key market areas, Dallas ranks 2nd in outbound volumes and 7th in inbound volumes.
