The Elizabeth, NJ, outbound tender rejection rate is currently 11.35%, up 152 basis points in the past seven days and 775 basis points above where it was three months ago. The Elizabeth outbound tender rejection rate remains below the national tender rejection rate, as it usually is, which currently stands at 13.4%.
Outbound Elizabeth tender volume is up 12.3% week over week, and is now above the midpoint of the 52-week range, which is unusual for February, and may be related to shipping to avoid disruptive winter conditions.
In the past week, outbound Elizabeth tender volumes were 3% below year-ago levels, whereas previously, tender volume was trending about lower 10% year over year.
In short, the recent weather in the Northeast has, at least temporarily, made the Elizabeth market tighter than it had been, giving it more similar characteristics to the broader U.S. freight market.
