March 27, 2026
Aloha HFS & GFS Customers:
Since the outbreak of the war with Iran on February 28, 2026, steamship lines have been closely monitoring fuel prices. Approximately two weeks ago, carriers announced a Fuel Related Surcharge increase effective April 12, 2026. However, the unprecedented attacks that began on March 18, 2026, targeting Middle East energy infrastructure across multiple countries have driven oil prices even higher.
As a result of these developments, the Fuel Related Surcharge will be adjusted to levels higher than previously announced. This additional increase will take effect in 16 days. Effective Sunday, April 12, 2026, the surcharge for Hawaii service will increase to 28.0%, and to 29.0% for Guam. Effective Sunday, April 26, 2026, the surcharge for Micronesia will increase to 31.0%.
This fuel surcharge adjustment is a direct pass-through from the steamship lines.
Honolulu Freight Service and Guam Freight Service will continue to monitor the steamship lines fuel surcharges and adjust accordingly.
