We want you to think in LTL. First Principles of LTL is the first course of it’s kind to hit the LTL market. This material is designed primarily to teach you how to THINK about LTL. Different industry players will come and go. Different mechanisms downstream of the foundational systems will evolve. Our aim is to install mental models through this course in order to have you think, understand, and create in LTL.

Most LTL training focuses on the many variables downstream model and emphasizes a “memorize this” approach to learning. First Principles of LTL hopes to boil these down to more easily ingested principles that serve as models to run any situation through with the ability to spot patterns and think through problems with confidence.

We’ll break down everything you’ll need to know whether you’re someone working for one of the LTL carriers, someone shipping LTL freight, or someone working to assist both sides as a 3PL or technology company in the space.

Knowledge is Power

Having the right information and filtering out the wrong information is critical in LTL. It’s easy to get lost in the weeds and become overwhelmed very quickly – from NMFC items, to Carrier Rules Tariffs, to technology white papers, XML language and more.

We think that the amount of information, choices, and ultimately, products in LTL will only drastically increase from here. The ability to spot trends, patterns and more importantly, falsehoods, by running that data through your mental frameworks is incredibly important. This course is designed to prepare your mind for this exactly.
