Detroit faces the post-holiday blues
|
SONAR Key Market Insights – Detroit
|
Outbound tender rejections remain elevated in Detroit one week into the new year as rejections are up 3.41% week over week to 5.65%.
Detroit’s outbound tender rejections are nearly half that of the national average of 9.84%. There is little demand in Detroit as outbound tender volumes are down 66.3% w/w. It seems that the market hasn’t come back on line following the holidays.
Tender rejections have seen a jump, but not enough to impact spot rates in a meaningful way as outbound tender volumes are essentially nonexistent.

“Federal regulations are clear: states must correct safety deficiencies on a schedule mutually agreed upon by the agency, and California failed to meet its commitment. We will not accept a corrective plan that knowingly leaves thousands of drivers holding noncompliant licenses behind the wheel of 80,000-pound trucks in open defiance of federal safety regulations.”
