Tulsa doesn’t repeat history
|
SONAR Key Market Insights – Tulsa, Oklahoma
|
Tulsa, Oklahoma, bucks the normal pattern for outbound tender rejections in the market with a 7.65% increase week over week and a 21.63% increase year over year.
In addition to OTRI being elevated in the market, outbound tender volumes are up 24.56% w/e and 60.13% month over month.
The sharp increase in outbound tender rejections and volumes has created a capacity crunch for Tulsa with upward pressure on spot rates and tightening capacity. Shippers should consider adding extra tender lead time to outgoing loads and increasing spot rates to secure capacity.

“This is ultimately all about providing flexibility, because that’s how drivers are most affected. They have flexible options, they have limitless places to park, and they always know they’re going to have a spot. That’s the world we’re trying to create.”
