Savannah feels no pressure
|
SONAR Key Market Insights – Savannah, Georgia
|
Savannah, Georgia, has seen capacity start to loosen as outbound tender rejection rates fall 2.32% week over week for an OTRI of 7.09%.
An OTRI of 7.% or greater can indicate there is some inflationary pressure in the spot market; however, the fact that outbound tender volumes have dropped 10.29% week over week has offset some of the impacts of a higher OTRI.
Spot rates in Savannah should be in line with the national average of $2.46 per mile. Shippers can expect moderate contract carrier compliance in the region heading into the Holiday season.

“While some states look the other way, my home state of Mississippi has tried to rein in this abuse in the trucking industry. Mississippi has taken decisive action and, in just the last three months alone, has identified 85 illegal drivers and referred them to Immigration and Customs Enforcement."
