This notice informs importers of the procedures governing the administration of tariff-rate quotas (TRQs) for certain steel goods.
On August 1, 2025 TRQs were established for steel goods originating from non-CUSMA free-trade agreement (FTA) partner and non-FTA partner countries matching the product descriptions of subject goods.
Imports above establised levels will be subject to a fifty percent (50%) surtax.
The quota application period for the second quarter will open on September 11, 2025, at 12:00 a.m. (EDT).
In addition, as of September 11, 2025, permits will be issued with a validity period of 30 days around the date of entry specified by the importer.
Specifically, the permit will be valid 5 days prior and 24 days after the date of entry specified by the importer.
