Dear Valued Customer,
We would like to inform you of an upcoming change affecting shipments originating in or destined for the states of Washington and Oregon. At Peninsula, we love the Pacific Northwest. Many of us were born and raised here and we have chosen to raise our families in the region. It is a beautiful place, but it is increasingly difficult to do business here.
Due to a number of state and local regulations enacted in recent years, the cost of doing business in these states has increased. Along with the direct costs of the regulations, these changes have resulted in higher administrative, reporting, and operational expenses necessary to remain fully compliant while continuing to provide safe and reliable transportation services.
To offset these regulatory and compliance costs, Peninsula Truck Lines will be implementing a Pacific Northwest Compliance Surcharge of $3.00 per shipment, effective April 6, 2026. This surcharge will apply to all shipments originating in or destined to the states of Washington or Oregon and will be itemized separately on your invoice.
We have made every effort to minimize the impact of this adjustment and will continue to look for efficiencies to control costs while maintaining the high level of service, safety, and regulatory compliance you expect from us.
