Demand metrics remain sluggish.
Despite stable Q3 quarterly GDP growth data (~3.9% Atlanta Fed Estimate), most metrics that relate to new demand for freight services are still sluggish. Consumer fears regarding inflation, layoff activity, a slow-to-react Federal Reserve, and continued trade uncertainty has recently pulled consumer and small business sentiment lower.
