Tariff truce tied to Greenland deal leaves U.S.–EU trade framework on shaky ground

CNBC reported that President Trump said he had reached an agreement with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte that “formed the framework of a future deal with respect to Greenland…and the entire Arctic Region. Trump has repeatedly said that he wants the U.S. to acquire Greenland for national security reasons. n a separate but related development the fate of the framework of a large trade deal agreed to between the United States and the 27-nation bloc comprising the European Union, which collectively represents the largest trading partner for the U.S., in late July, appeared to be in jeopardy.
