Why has Los Angeles-Long Beach been so fluid in 2025? The largest North American port complex is on pace to blow through the import container volumes it handled during the peak pandemic year of 2022, with no sign of the bottlenecks experienced during that time. There are different interpretations for why this is happening, among them the lack of stockpiling at warehouses in a year when consumer spending has largely held up. But the ports also learned lessons from the pandemic experience.
