MANDATORY Aluminum Reporting EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 01 2026

Canadian importers of aluminum products covered under GIP 83 are now required to report aluminum smelt and cast information. Importers will need to update supplier-data collection and provide smelt and cast information through the SWI IID. See more.



Application Period Opened for the 2027 Calendar Year TRQs

Global Affairs Canada has opened the 2027 calendar year TRQ application period for dairy, poultry and eggs, with applications due by November 15, 2026. Applications must be submitted electronically. Find out more.

Reminder: Relief Available for New U.S. Counter-Tariffs

Canada has extended existing tariff remission measures to the new U.S. counter-tariffs, allowing eligible goods to receive relief. Additional remission is available through June 30, 2027 for qualifying goods and uses. See more details.

2027 CUSMA/USMCA of Origin Renewal

To ensure uninterrupted CUSMA/USMCA tariff treatment, updated Certificates of Origin must be submitted to the appropriate Willson team by December 1, 2026. A valid certificate must be on file, otherwise, applicable duties will be paid to CBP or CBSA. Learn more.

Update: Section 232 Duties on Pharmaceutical Imports

CBP has issued guidance on the application of Section 232 duties on pharmaceutical products/ingredients imported into the U.S. Importers are encouraged to review the affected classifications and remain compliant with the new requirements. Find out more.
