While many people know the teddy bear is named for American President Theodore Roosevelt, they probably don’t know why. 🐻 Here’s the "bear-story": In 1902, Roosevelt refused to shoot a bear cub while hunting. The incident made national news. The story inspired toy store owner Morris Michtom to create a cuddly bear toy and get permission from Roosevelt to name the new toy a "Teddy Bear." The rest, as they say, is history. 🤎
