Further Modifications to Section 338 Motor Vehicle Duty Product List

On October 23, 2026, President Trump issued amendments to the Presidential Proclamation of Canadian products subject to the additional 50% duty imposed under Section 338. As a result, certain products will be removed from the scope of the additional duties, while other Canadian products have been added and will become subject to the 50% duty.

These changes apply to covered merchandise entered for consumption, or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption, on or after 12:01 a.m. ET on October 30, 2026.

Importers of Canadian-origin products should review the updated product list to determine whether their merchandise is affected and evaluate any potential duty impact on future shipments.

For additional details and the list of products impacted by this amendment, please review the Presidential Proclamation: https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2026/10/further-modifying-the-scope-of-products-of-canada-subject-to-the-additional-duties-imposed-to-offset-canadian-discrimination-against-the-commerce-of-the-united-states-with-respect-to-motor-vehicles/
