Allentown’s outbound tender rejection rates continued to fall in the past week, dropping 425 basis points from 10.49% on Dec. 29 to 6.24%.
During that same period, Allentown’s volumes fell 4.97% week over week. Compared with last month, volumes are down 11.88%.
The declines in volumes and tender rejection rates have not yet affected dry van spot market rates. According to SONAR Key Market Insights, 8% of Allentown’s outbound lanes have shown an above-average rate increase on a four-day rolling average.
Despite the declines, the Allentown market is one of the largest in the nation. Out of 135 key market areas, Allentown ranks second in outbound volumes and fifth in inbound volumes.
