Atlanta’s outbound tender rejection rates continued to fall over the past week. OTRI.ATL declined 155 basis points week-over-week, falling from 8.98% on Jan. 12 to 7.43%.
The decline coincided with lower outbound tender volumes, which dropped 5.41% week-over-week. Compared with last month, Atlanta’s tender volumes are 2.2% lower.
Lower tender rejection rates and volumes also contributed to softer spot market rates. The Van TRAC spot market indicator showed a 19% decline in the number of outbound lanes reporting above-average rate decreases, based on a 4-day rolling average.
Despite the declines, Atlanta remains one of the largest markets for inbound and outbound volumes. Of the 135 key market areas, Atlanta ranks 1st in outbound volumes and 2nd in inbound volumes.
