New requirements for the Import of pistachios and pistachio products
The following is provided by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA).
Imported pistachios and pistachio-containing products originating from the Islamic Republic of Iran are currently implicated in several illnesses and recalls in Canada due to contamination with Salmonella.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is implementing temporary import requirements as a precautionary step to safeguard Canadians against the risk of Salmonella infection.
For information on these new requirements, consult the notice to importers.
