As you know, Dohrn has completed the integration in the North and the South. Next week we will take a big step forward by fully integrating the Sutton Chicago terminal into the Dohrn system. This is an important milestone because it eliminates the manual system handoffs, and it gives us one unified platform across all terminals. This final integration will provide more reliable service, better transit times, and complete shipment visibility.
- One platform – better visibility –In 2025 Dohrn has built a new regional LTL network that is comprised of larger terminals in locations that are much closer Midwest freight markets. Next week Dohrn will integrate the last Sutton terminal in Chicago into Dohrn’s new LTL terminal network. This will allow the Dohrn to sunset Sutton’s legacy IT system. Enabling all Dohrn terminals to operate on the same Dohrn IT platform will lead real time and accurate shipment updates and improved on time delivery performance.
- Chicago, Peru, and Rock Falls will work together – Dohrn will use three terminals to serve the Chicagoland freight market.
- Short-term learning curve, long-term gain – The former Sutton terminal in Chicago is staffed with 185 employees. There may be some bumps in the road as all these employees learn how to navigate a new operating system. That said the tools are easy to use and we are confident that our Chicago employees will adapt quickly. Within a couple of weeks, processes will stabilize, and customers will benefit from the efficiencies and service consistency that come from having every terminal operating on the same IT platform.
