The White House issued an Executive Order regarding new tariff rates under IEEPA which will take effect Aug 7
Further Modifying the Reciprocal Tariff Rates – The White House
President Trump signed an Executive Order on July 30, 2025 imposing an additional 40% duty on some imports from Brazil effective Aug 6, 2025. This is in addition to the 10% IEEPA Reciprocal tariff rate bringing the total rate to 50%. Annex I to the EO lists the exemptions to this tariff rate and include goods subject to Section 232 actions such as steel, aluminum, autos & auto parts, and now copper.
